Fourth of July Weekend

Fourth of July weekend my family went camping up over yonder by squaw peak. I know what you are thinking.. makeoutville. Yes I tried to get Josh to head over to the peak to make-out.. even got a babysitter. He just rolled his eyes at me as though I was kidding.

Put those kids to work I say!!

Typical teenagers.. 'How dare you bring me to the middle of nowhere without my friends/boyfriend' They were desperate to find just enough of a signal to send out a quick text.

Awww.. best buds

Okay.. so apparently the first night we were camping, the people at the campsite above us saw a black bear. The ranger came by the next day to let us know in case we wanted to leave. 'It was just a little baby bear.' they say. Well, I say.. I bet it's mamma's not so little!
Anyway, a while later this truck with a bear trap starts driving by our campsite and stops just past us. We think hmm.. maybe they need to turn around. Then, they get out. So we think.. well maybe they need to adjust the trailer. This especially seemed to be the case when they got back in the truck. But SUDDENLY they are BACKING UP into the campsite right above ours. I was starting to get a bit nervous at this point. But figured I'd be realistic and they were probably just using the space to turn themselves around. Well, that idea didn't last for more than about three seconds because before I knew it, they were back out of the truck and UNLOADING the freiking bear trap. Still trying to be rational I was thinking.. they are just being overly cautious.. it's not a big deal.
After they left, we decided to go check this sucker out. I mean.. how often do you get to see this kind of nonsense in real life.. right? Well, apparently they stick DOUGHNUTS and RAW CHICKEN in this trap. So we start to think.. We are told to go to all this trouble to make sure ALL of our food and the remnants are locked up in our cars at night so we don't attract the bears to us. Yet, here they are putting doughnuts and raw chicken.. 50 feet away from us. WHAT?!?!

Aww shoot the picture that shows how close the trap is to our campsite didn't show up. I'll have to figure out how to fix that later.

On to a much happier note.. The girls all got their nails painted to celebrate the fourth and there were friendship bracelets and anklets galore.

We walked from camp over to squaw peak to watch the fireworks all across the valley (which sounds so much cooler than it actually is) It got WAY windy and cold before any of the good fireworks even started so we left. But it was fun to hang out anyway.

Happy Happy Un-Birthday.. TO YOU!!

It's so crazy how time flies. Addison is getting so big so fast. At six months Addison loves getting kisses from puppies, eating anything and everything (so far there hasn't been anything she doesn't like.) And she laughs hysterically when her daddy eats her belly. She sits up like a pro and is becoming more and more independent every day. Her biggest entertainment to herself is folding herself in half (while she is sitting she flattens her top half between her legs) then she sits back up, pulls her dress up over her face and yells. She likes to pretend cough. Her favorite toys are Flo.. her ostrich from the zoo (she likes to suck on the feet) Pokie.. which is her cow (she's realized when she pulls him he vibrates) and her monkey.. Marcel.

Nope, I absolutely do not need a reason to take more pictures of this beautiful baby.

HAPPY FIRST FATHER'S DAY TO JOSHUA

If there is one thing that I know for sure, it's that this baby LOVES her Daddy!

Eatin' Addie's belly. Sends her into giggle fits.

For Father's Day, we had a nice lunch at Aunt Jennie's. Then we went to visit Grandpa Brown.

Then we went to Aunt Traci's to spend some time with my dad.

Grandpa Cliff "casually" looking out the window..

If you look closely you will see that Addison has no time for such trivial things as getting her picture taken. She is much to busy going cross eyed while trying to figure out how to get the binky back into her mouth.

Miss Addison and her Soph

For some reason Addie cannot get enough of Sophia. She can be in the worst mood crying and throwing a fit. All Sophia has to do is look at her and she grins hugely and laughs. Too bad I can't keep her in my pocket.

YOLOW Family Reunion

Father's Day weekend we went camping with Joshua's family. It was Miss Addie's FIRST camping trip. (YoLow is for York, Ludlow)

She could barely move in this mammoth suit. But she LOVES it because it makes her all warm and snuggly.

Gettin' kisses from Ladie bug

Too bad there was nothing to be caught.

Addison cannot get enough of the puppies. They kiss her.. she giggles, they bark.. she giggles, they sit there and do nothing.. she giggles.

We ended up getting rained out and coming home early. But we had really good food, caught absolutely no fish, froze at night, cooked in the pouring rain.. and we did it all in style.
